Understanding Candle Scent Notes

Top Notes (The First Impression)

These are the scents you notice right when you light or open the candle. They are lighter, more delicate aromas that create your first impression, such as citrus, herbs, or light florals. Top notes draw you in and usually fade within the first 30 to 60 minutes of burning.

Middle Notes (The Heart of the Scent)

Also called the heart notes, these define the candle’s main personality. Once the top notes fade, the middle notes emerge, often bringing warm, balanced, and full-bodied scents like spices, woods, or florals. They make up the core of what you will smell for most of the burn time.

Bottom Notes (The Lasting Impression)

These are the base of the fragrance, rich and grounding scents that linger the longest after the candle is blown out. Think of deep aromas such as amber, vanilla, musk, or sandalwood. Bottom notes add depth and warmth, giving the candle its lasting cozy finish.

Please follow these safety guidelines:

  • Always burn candles within sight and never leave them unattended.
  • Keep away from flammable materials, drafts, pets, and children.
  • Trim wick to ¼ inch before lighting for a clean, even burn.
  • Do not burn longer than 4 hours at a time.
  • Stop burning when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.
  • Only use on heat-resistant surfaces.
  • Never move a lit or recently extinguished candle.
